Once the weapon of choice for samurai warriors, the katana sword would later become a symbol of unification as Japan strived for civil peace duringthe Sengoku Era (1467-1603), a time of turmoil referred to as the “Warring States Period”.
The “Tenka Fubu”, translated to “The Nation Under One Sword”, was the guiding philosophy of renowned military leader Oda Nobunaga and His protégé, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, employed diplomacy more than military might to further the cause followed by the reign of Tokugawa Ieyasu, who laid the groundwork for nearly three centuries of peace and economic stability throughout Japan.
A Japanese themed restaurant originating in Bangkok, KATANA is a place that celebrates a time and era when the unification of Japan as a peaceful and thriving nation became a driving force for the leaders of the day.
